So much I want to say, I don't know where to start.
This week was really challenging. We had a mini missionary with us for the whole week. We went to the stake center last Sunday afternoon and met her, she came home with us and stayed with us until this morning when we dropped her off at the ???.
She was baptized just three months ago and couldn't really speak any English. Sister Rumsey is still really new and has limited Chinese, so it was difficult trying to translate everything back and forth and lead everything and get the work done. The beginning of the week didn't go very smoothly. It was pouring rain and lots of lessons fell through. I don't think any of us really had a very good attitude about everything. We just were feeling disappointed, not really seeing any success.
We made plans and worked really really hard the whole week. We were rejected a TON and saw so many miracles! I think it's just a week that I can't really describe in words. I'm so grateful for the opportunities we had, for the hardships we experienced, for the miracles we saw, the families we were able to meet with, for the sun that finally came out, for mangoes and Sister Zhong's egg salad.
My investigator from XiaoGang got baptized!!!! She's the one I mentioned when we talked on Skype on Mother's day. She wanted to know if the Book of Mormon was true, so she prayed that she would open her Book of Mormon and see the character ? for water. She opened it and read both pages, but didn't see any ?...discouraged, she flipped two pages and it was right there in the middle of the page! When I was still in XiaoGang, we met with her several times and she continued to meet with the missionaries and coming to church and she was recently baptized!!!! YAY! She came and visited me here in DouLiu because she's on a road trip around Taiwan with her son. MIRACLE.
I just love being a missionary. I love Taiwan! I love my Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel. I'm excited to see you all very soon! Pray I can come home safely!!
